Career milestones

  • 2005An unexpected beginning. I was working part-time on project-bidding documentation to support my family, and found design along the way.
  • 2006Self-taught foundations. With no formal design education, I followed my curiosity into HTML and CSS and taught myself using software documentation.
  • 2007First design role. Three days away from work, one interview, and my first Junior Web Designer position on real, shipping products.
  • 2010sGrowing through change. New technologies, family responsibilities and increasingly complex products repeatedly required me to learn again — moving from visual design into product thinking.
  • 2017Leading customisation experiences. Took ownership of complex personalised-product journeys, reusable patterns and cross-team design quality.
  • TodayUI/UX Technical Leader. I lead design direction, mentor designers and bridge business, engineering and research with 19+ years of practice.
